Leroy creates his jewelry by a technique
called fabrication. He uses sterling silver and 14k gold
in sheet and wire form, and hammers, cuts, and solders
it into shape. From Leroy's extensive travels throughout
the southwest, he finds inspiration for his designs.
Bridges, architecture, boulders, even automobiles fuel
his imagination. Leroy is also inspired by the old
Navajo silver work that has become world renowned. He
takes those old designs and creates stunning pieces with
heavy gauge silver, and fabulous stones. All the stones
that Leroy uses for inlay, as well as cabochons are
natural, with the exception of the black onyx.
Leroy has won various
awards throughout his career, which spans 21 years. He
continues to live and work in the same area in Pinon
where he grew up.
