Sterling silver Pueblo Inlay Bolo

LBB1

This is called Pueblo Inlay Bolo, it's approx. 7.8cm x 3cm, and the tips are 7.5cm long.  All of Leroy Begay's bolo ties are the longest we can make them, usually around 43" total. We use the highest quality leather 8ply bolo straps, in black or dark brown. All tips are handmade also.

This design incorporates sterling silver, 14k gold, and natural stones to create a mythical pueblo. The round black onyx in the corner is a solar eclipse peeking through the clouds over the pueblo. Red coral, sugilite, turquoise and lapis are inlayed like a puzzle to build the pueblo, while the large Morenci turquoise represents a body of water.

Stone choices: the small round stone can symbolize the following-red coral = setting sun, turquoise = noonday sun, mother of pearl = full moon, black onyx = lunar eclipse.

These are made to order and can usually ship in  time: 10-14 days.

Leroy creates his jewelry by a technique called fabrication. He uses sterling silver and 14k gold in sheet and wire form, and hammers, cuts, and solders it into shape. From Leroy's extensive travels throughout the southwest, he finds inspiration for his designs. Bridges, architecture, boulders, even automobiles fuel his imagination. Leroy is also inspired by the old Navajo silver work that has become world renowned. He takes those old designs and creates stunning pieces with heavy gauge silver, and fabulous stones. All the stones that Leroy uses for inlay, as well as cabochons are natural, with the exception of the black onyx.

Leroy has won various awards throughout his career, which spans 21 years. He continues to live and work in the same area in Pinon where he grew up.
